Drew Senior Pictures

Last weekend I got to take Drew's senior pictures. The wind was AWFUL that day, but we toughed it out and got some good pictures! Drew is going to school at South Plains, then going to Colorado to open a snowboarding shop!

Last but not least, I have designed this sample graduation invitation. (Obviously there is some fake info on it because it is just a sample!) Many seniors choose something like this because it is a bit more personal than the standard ones, and turns out cheaper as well to do it this way!

Welcome!

I decided to separate my personal and professional blog, so here is A Moment in Time Photography!

For those that don't know, I started a photography business here in Lubbock, and am absolutely loving it! My website is www.photomomentintime.com.

Over the next few days I will be transferring blog posts from my personal blog that are photography related.

Stop back by to see all of the updates, and a new summer contest!

Tara's Senior Pictures

Originally written 4/13/08

On Friday, I got to take Tara's senior pictures. She is a senior at Monterey and will be attending ACU in the fall. I am jealous that she is about to get an iPhone for going there! (If you haven't heard, all new incoming freshmen to ACU either get an iPhone or the nicest iPod Touch!) Her mom, Darla, got to go with us on this shoot. We started out in her backyard, then went to the Depot district for some fun downtown shots.

Good luck at ACU, Tara!

Lisa's Pregnant Pics

Originally written 4/8/08

As promised, here are some pictures from my mini-sessions weekend. I got the privilege of photographing Lisa. She is in the Texas Tech Pharmacy school, and her and her husband are expecting their first baby! Believe it or not, she is 4 months in these pictures. She was absolutely wonderful to work with! We weren't sure if we were going to get to have a shoot because of the weather that Friday morning, but it cleared up and was wonderful outside. It was so great working with someone so photogenic and gorgeous!

Lisa... I think that you are finding out the sex of the baby sometime this week?? I would love to know! Thanks again!

For those that can't read it, because blogspot won't let me upload this any bigger than it is, I am offering mini-sessions next weekend!! You may have your choice of Friday, Saturday, or Sunday of March 28, 29 or 30 to have a one hour photo shoot of anything you would like for $25! After the shoot, you would get your pictures loaded on a custom, password protected webpage for viewing. I am also offering all orders from these shoots a 10% discount whether they would like to order prints, or the DVD of all of the images! The first 4 people / families to comment on this blog posting will win! Email me at info@photomomentintime.com if you have any questions.

Sarah's Bridal Portraits

Originally written 2/11/08

So this weekend I had the privilege of shooting Sarah's bridal portraits along with another photographer, Jeff. We are also both going to be shooting her wedding. It was so much fun! And, because I am super impatient and want to post pictures, I will give the blogging world two! However, I don't want to reveal any details about her gorgeous dress and accessories, so here are the only two pictures that don't show any of that! haha...

For the rest of the pictures you will have to wait until after the wedding!! It is in two weeks and I am so excited!

In other news, I started feeling not-so-hot on Friday afternoon. Saturday I was feeling even worse, then Sunday was terrible!! I think I had a mild version of the flu... it has been going around at Texas Technology Store. Today I still was puny and laid in bed all day, but I felt a bit better. I think that I am going to try to work at TTS tomorrow. I haven't ran a fever in awhile, so I think that I should be fine. I have cabin fever so bad! It is not my personality to be confined to the house for pretty much 4 days. Oh well. Zane has been wonderful at getting me good things like ice cream and cough drops, and that part has been nice.

AND - Is anyone else excited for Valentine's Day!?

More Photoshop Fun

Originally written 2/8/08

I have seen a few pictures like this before, and I thought that I would try it. I like the one of Kaylin with the weathered looking cracks over it the best. Place a comment with your vote of which one you like better!!

I got this look by using my photo of Kaylin, and then also using my photo of some old, weathered wood. I placed the wood on top of Kaylin's picture in photoshop, and set the opacity to 65%. I then adjusted some of the color on the picture so that her face didn't really have the picture over it so that her face still really stands out.

In this second photo, I used my photo of Zane, and also one of a pebbled concrete. I used the same steps, but for some reason was unable to clear up the texture on his face, so in my opinion, it didn't really turn out well.

Oh how I love Photoshop

So, I was inspired by my friend Laci to take some pictures of my dogs to practice pet pictures. They are HARD to take pictures of! I had to take about 10 pictures to get these three. Here are the pictures before and after photoshop for you all to see the wonders of this lovely program. All of these are pictures of Max because Maddie was not cooperating AT ALL.

Thanks, Laci for the inspiration! Check her out at www.zoeticimages.com!

Websites and Weekends

Originally written 1/29/08

So, since my last post my parents came one weekend, we went to a Texas Tech women's basketball game, and lots of other fun things! I need to get the pictures off of my camera and on my computer, and am being lazy at the moment! ha!

Zane's store also opened yesterday, (I'll count that as an event on a weekend since we spent all weekend up here preparing...) so part of the laziness comes from sheer exhaustion from being up here and helping him for 12 hours a day for the past week. I also have pictures of the store opening day.

For today, I just wanted to announce that my new site launched last week, so it is no longer ghetto-looking! Yay!! It actually looks really nice, so everyone should go check it out at www.photomomentintime.com!

Lubbock Pictures

Originally written 1/17/08

So, yesterday my friend Kaylin Booker took me to different places around Lubbock that might be fun to take pictures at. Since we just moved here, I really didn't know too many places that I could use. Here are a few we came up with, plus just some artsy pictures. I also took a few textures pictures as I am experimenting with what you can do with those in photoshop.

Thanks, Kaylin!
